Theodore B. Zahariadis


Th. B. Zahariadis was born in Chalkida, Greece in 1972. He received the Dipl.- Ing. degree from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department, University of Patra, Greece, in 1994. His graduate thesis was in the area of Distributed Databases. He built a Virtual Library System interconnecting the X.500 "Directory" suit and Oracle database.

Thesis Advisor: Prof. D. Maritsas

Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, in the field of Integrated Broadband Networks. His Ph.D. thesis is "Distributed Broadband Architecture for Interactive Multimedia Services".

Working Experience

1997   Technical Consultant, Intrasoft R&D, TMN Products
1996   Software Engineer in a Telecommunication Satellite Simulation tool for INTRACOM. INTRACOM’s Internet over Satellite (IoS) product which won the 1997 European IT Prize was based on this tool.

Participated in the European Research projects RACE BRAVE, ACTS AMUSE, EURORIM, DOLMEN, and DRIVE II/SCOPE, ENTRANCE, Telematics EUROSCOPE projects as a research engineer.

1994   Software Engineer in the project TSTAR (Traffic Simulation Tool for Attika Ring) a co-operation between INTRACOM and CTI. The tool simulates telephone networks and routes the calls to switching centers according to traffic and load conditions.
